Deleting your Lejo account
Last updated 8 September 2026
You can delete your Lejo account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone. This page explains where the button is, exactly what deletion removes, and what we are obliged to keep.
From inside the app
Lejo — customer app
- Open the app and go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. The account is closed straight away.
Lejo Driver app
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
- Confirm when asked. The account is closed straight away.
If a delivery is still in progress, deletion is refused until it finishes. Somebody is holding a parcel that belongs to somebody else, and closing the account mid-way would strand it. Wait for the delivery to complete or cancel it, then delete the account.
If you cannot open the app
Email business@lejoexpress.com from the address on your account, or from any address if you tell us the phone number you signed in with, and ask us to delete the account. We will confirm your identity before doing it, and complete the deletion within thirty days.
What deletion removes
- Your name and your email address are erased from our records.
- You are signed out on every device, and every sign-in session is revoked.
- Your account is closed permanently. It cannot be reopened, and signing in again with the same phone number creates a new, empty account.
- You stop receiving notifications from Lejo.
What is kept, and why
Deletion does not erase the record of deliveries that already happened. A completed delivery is a transaction between you and another person, with money attached, and both of you — and the tax authority — may need it later. So we keep:
- Your phone number, attached to those past delivery records, so that a delivery or a payment can still be traced to the account that made it.
- Delivery and payment records for seven years, including addresses, amounts and dates. These are business and tax records: they are what allows a chargeback, a refund or a dispute about a parcel to be answered.
- Proof-of-delivery photographs for two years.
- Driver documents, for drivers, for seven years after the account closes, because they evidence that the person who carried a parcel was entitled to.
Nothing in that list is used to contact you or to market anything after your account is closed. When each period ends, the record is deleted.
